Coffee in hand, essential oils diffusing, sun streaming through the window, reading His precious Word 🙌🏻. All a great part of any Sabbath if you ask me. Especially the Biblical Sabbath.
I’ve been observing YHVH’s Biblical Sabbath for about four years now, and I can’t imagine my life without it now. What a blessing it is to sit with ABBA and to learn at the feet of our Saviour. This is what Saturdays are made for! Resting & being rejuvenated in Him.
A little while ago on a Sabbath morning I overheard my middle child express with great enthusiasm that she can now read part of her Bible {she has her own copy of the Scriptures ISR}. I cannot express the joy it brought to hear her read it to her Dad, as well as to hear her excitement over her new Bible.
I’m fairly certain our Heavenly Father feels the same about us when we talk with such joy & enthusiasm about His Word. I also just love how the Creator of the universe invites us to be with Him, deliberately every week to grow in our joy & enthusiasm for Him and His Word.
Truthfully, it saddens me that so many choose not to observe and take part in our Heavenly Father’s chosen day of rest. Many say they are a part of His family, yet choose to disregard His set-apart, holy day. It tends to be labeled as either a Jewish day or Seventh Day Adventist. But it’s not!
The truth of the matter is, the Biblical Sabbath is YHVH’s day
“Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the Shabbath (Sabbath) of rest, a holy assembly; ye shall do no work therein: it is the Shabbath of YAHUAH in all your dwellings.”
Leviticus 23:3 Cepher Emphasis added
“And YAHUAH spoke unto Mosheh, saying, Speak also unto the children of Yashar’el, saying, Truly My Shabbathoth (Sabbath) ye shall guard: for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am YAHUAH MEQODISHKEM (YHVH who sanctifies you).”
Exodus 31:12-13 Cepher Emphasis added
“Moreover also I gave My Sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am YAHUAH that sanctify them.”
Ezekiel 20:12 Cepher Emphasis added
When I read those {as well as Genesis 2:3, Exodus 20:8-11, Exodus 31:12-17, Ezekiel 20:20, Matthew 5:17-19, Isaiah 56, Isaiah 58:13-14, Deuteronomy 5:12-15, Leviticus 23 to name a few more} I see not a single mention of the Biblical Sabbath belonging to the Jews or any one else. It’s clear it belongs to YHVH, Creator of heaven and earth. Likewise, it’s also clear He has chosen it to be a sign between Himself and His people.
When I read through the numerous passages concerning the Biblical Sabbath, the seriousness of the day jumps out at me every single time. YHVH, our Father in heaven, takes this day very seriously. Unquestionably, so did His Son, Yahshua our Messiah, and therefore so should we.
Sabbath Blessings
Dear friends, if you aren’t already observing the Biblical Sabbath, my prayer for you is that you will begin to dig into the Word and study it out with an open heart. As a result, I pray you will choose to believe Him at His Word, believing not only is it His day, but it’s a sign between Him and His people. I pray our gracious Heavenly Father will open your eyes to see how delightful His Sabbath truly is. Observing this day really does bring blessings; it’s a day of complete rest after all!
If you do observe, I pray YHVH will provide you deep rest and many blessings as you continue to take part in His holy day!
