To Live a Biblically Holistic Life & will help you get through challenging times
At the time of writing this, the world is truly living in interesting and challenging times, to say the least. With all that’s going on today, it’s easy to feel like you’re drowning in a sea of noise, confusion, and fear.
As Believers in Messiah Yahshua we are not called to live this way! Allowing yourself to get caught up in it all, your spirit can easily be overcome with fear, anxiety, and worry. Yet, we are told “YAH gave us a Spirit who produces not timidity, but power, love and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7
As a Believer you need to be choosing to focus on the things that really matter and what actually benefits you. You need to continually remind yourself of which Spirit you have been given and walk in the Spirit at all times. And really, having a spirit that produces power, love and self-discipline sounds pretty great, doesn’t it?!
Thankfully, there are essential actions you can do daily to live as presently, holistically, and Biblically as you can. By participating in these daily actions you can truly walk in the Spirit that YAH our heavenly Father gave us.
As a Believer, these 6 essential actions will help you live a truly Biblically Holistic Life and will help you through the challenging times.
6 Essential Actions Every Believer Needs to do Daily
1. Get Into the Word & Read your Physical Bible
“Yes, keep this book of the Torah on your lips, and meditate on it day and night, so that you will take care to act according to everything written in it. Then your undertakings will prosper, and you will succeed.” Joshua 1:8. If you want to stay grounded, in-tune and deeply rooted with unshakable faith, especially during hard times, you need to be in the Written Word every day.
Getting into the Word is how we get to know our heavenly Father on a deeper level; it’s where we learn how to live and conduct our lives just as our Messiah lived & conducted His. His Word is also where we learn about the times we’re living so as we’re not taken off-guard. Reading your physical Bible daily is essential to living life well.
2. Pray for Wisdom & to be Filled with the Set-Apart, Holy Spirit
As I mentioned above, we are living in interesting and challenging times, therefore, we need to be seeking the right wisdom in order to navigate through these times.
It’s important though you don’t go seeking after just any wisdom. Proverbs 2:6 reminds us where we should be seeking our wisdom from: “For YHVH gives wisdom; from His mouth comes knowledge and understanding.” Wisdom, knowledge and understanding should only be sought from our heavenly Father; this is going to ensure the right & true way we need to follow.
Praying for YAH’s wisdom should also lead to being filled with His Set-Apart Spirit; His Holy Spirit. This is so vital for living the life our heavenly Father created you to live! You weren’t meant to be depressed, anxious, or fearful. You were called to walk out your life in accordance with His Spirit, therefore you need to keep asking to be filled with His Spirit! And thankfully, our gracious ABBA Father gives Him to us:
“So if you, even though you are bad, know how to give your children gifts that are good, how much more will the Father keep giving the Ruach HaKodesh from heaven to those who keep asking Him!” Luke 11:13
3. Repent of your Sins & Ask Forgiveness
I understand many today we’re taught that “sin” is really only the big nasty sins, like stealing, adultery, and murder. But really, sinning is not always big things, but little things. 1 John 3:4 tells us plainly what sin is: “Everyone who keeps on sinning is violating Torah – indeed, sin is violation of Torah.” Sin is harboring bitterness in your heart, holding onto worry, and snapping at the cashier or your children.
Repenting of our sins and asking forgiveness through the precious Blood of Yahshua, Messiah doesn’t always have to be some big ordeal. It’s as simple as acknowledging we’re not perfect, yet, that we want to change, grow and become more like our beautiful Saviour. Once it was explained to me this way: confessing our sins and repenting of them and seeking forgiveness is just like pulling weeds in our garden. It’s a daily action that needs to happen in order for our garden to flourish. And HalleluYah for what we gain from confessing: “He who conceals his sins will not succeed; he who confesses and abandons them will gain mercy.” Proverbs 28:13
4. Put on the Full Armour of YAH & Choose the Mind of Messiah
Unfortunately, too many believe other people are the enemy and choose to live with a negative mindset (and try to justify it by calling it realism or “speaking the truth”). The true reality is other people are not our enemy; the real Enemy is the spiritual forces of evil and cosmic powers from the heavenly realm. The Adversary is here only to steal, kill, and destroy (see John 10). When you allow yourself to see others as the enemy and continue complaining, gossiping or having a “stinkin’ thinkin'” attitude, then the Enemy does what He came to do.
The great new is, we don’t have to allow Him the opportunity to do what He wants! Glory to YAH! He’s shown a better way:
“Finally, grow powerful in union with Messiah, in union with His mighty strength! Use all the armour and weaponry that YAH provides, so that you will be able to stand against the deceptive tactics of the Adversary. For we are not struggling against human beings, but against the rulers, authorities and cosmic powers governing this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realm. So take up every piece of war equipment YAH provides; so that when the evil day comes, you will be able to resist; and when the battle is won, you will still be standing. Therefore, stand! Have the belt of truth buckled around your waist, put on righteousness for a breastplate, and wear on your feet the readiness that comes from the Good News of shalom. Always carry the shield of trust, with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the Evil One. And take the helmet of deliverance; along with the sword given by the Spirit, that is, the Word of YAH; as you pray at all times, with all kinds of prayers and requests, in the Spirit, vigilantly and persistently , for all YAH’s people.”
Ephesians 6:10-18
By choosing to daily put on the full armour provided to us from our loving heavenly Father, YHVH, it equips us to not only stand against the Enemy, but enables us to walk in full dependence upon YAH and to deliberately choose the mind of Messiah.
“In other words, do not let yourselves be conformed to the standards of this world. Instead, keep letting yourselves be transformed by the renewing of your minds; so that you will know what Elohim wants and will agree that what He wants is good, satisfying and able to succeed.” Romans 12:2
5. Eat a Biblically Clean Diet
“You are not to eat anything disgusting.” Deuteronomy 14:3 Those are pretty clear words. Accordingly, it’s important to not fill your body with disgusting junk: faux foods, additives & preservatives, processed foods, nor “food” the Father deems as not actually food.
By choosing to eat real, whole, mostly organic food it helps your body to thrive as well as keeps the mind clear and thinking well. You have more energy, clarity, and I firmly believe you’re able to hear from our heavenly Father better as well. Choosing to respect yourself and live the way He designed you to live is actually pleasing to Him: “Well, whatever you do, whether it’s eating or drinking or anything else, do it all so as to bring glory to Elohim.” 1 Corinthians 10:31
6. Move Your Body
“She has girded her loins with strength, and has made her arms strong.” Proverbs 31:7
Similar to eating well, moving your body daily is essential to living a healthy, whole, Biblically holistic life. Improved energy, clearer mind, better mood & brain health, improved sleep and reduced stress are all benefits of daily movement! Furthermore, if you have more energy, are feeling well and can think more clearly, then you’re more able to handle stress better and hear from our precious ABBA YHVH.
Choose His Ways Every Day and Live the Life He Created you to Live
These essential actions every Believer needs do daily really aren’t that hard. Which is a great thing about them. Spending quality time first thing in the morning with our heavenly Father actually takes care of most of them! And it preps us for our day ahead.
Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers. 3 John 2
